Why You Don’t Want to Buy Into “Business-in-a-box” Hype
Pavel Lenshin
I was planning to write about this for a long time, but the last launch of another so-called “business-in-a-box” opportunity pushed me to finally do it today.
I want you to read this important message, where I’m going to reveal some gray spots of the shiny offers that pop here and there time and time again.
I believe that because of such “super opportunities” people start loosing their faith in Internet marketing niche. My wish is to try and stop false promises and hype that increases peoples’ distrust in Internet marketers and Internet marketing industry.
Let me start dissecting the hype around so-called “businesses-in-a-box” opportunities, by saying this:
Do Not Ever Buy Yourself a Competitive Job.
If you are a newcomer on the Internet marketing scene, don’t know how to generate targeted traffic and don’t have a marketing “guru” or millionaire friend to back you up, do not under any circumstances buy into this hype, because, simply put, you will loose your money and time.
Here are two crucial facts and arguments:
- You invest or, I would say, spend your own money, most often on monthly basis for the “valuable” opportunity to re-sell products for someone else. Of course, you are sold by big promises of hands-down easy management, but let me tell you this – the hardest part of any business is marketing.I never met a turnkey business opportunity where all marketing and sales generation is done for you and then all you need is just managing the campaign and collecting checks, did you?Have you ever been offered the opportunity for, say, $97 monthly for an opportunity when all traffic and sales generation work is done for you, where you just sit and wait every month for you four-figure check to arrive?Know why?
Right, such profits everyone would rather keep for themselves, so why do you want to pay for the right to drive sales for someone else?
- All the beauties of the so-called turnkey system and e-commerce site eventually means nothing, because you will sell the same stuff to the same market, using the same e-commerce platform even after customization together with hundreds and thousands of other members, from which some are top “movers and shakers” of the niche. You may start calculating your risks now.
- If the system is that “easy”, “incredible” and “wow”, why not use it yourself, unless guaranteed monthly membership fee in $97 is better than all system benefits combined.
In this respect, even good old Franchise for me sounds way more lucrative for a couple of reasons:
- When you buy yourself a job by investing in franchise you, at least, start building your own business, reputation and customer database, not spending money to sell other people’s products for commission.
- Franchise offer includes a proven to work business plan, business model you can copy and be sure it will most likely work and work well. With “reselling business-in-a-box” you get nothing, except for rehashed information overload on reselling. Note that you don’t invest in the “Build-An-Empire” business model from the owner’s viewpoint. You buy yourself a reseller “right” to work for that owner. If you ask me if this business model is profitable for the owner, without a second thought, I would say “yes”. The problem is such business model is not for sale. It is for the owner to keep and benefit from and guess who will “reassure” the benefits? Even if all members generate $0 in sales, their monthly fees can make anyone happy.
- No franchise business is sold by hundreds and thousands during the first month for people leaving on the same street without compliance and liabilities.
- Franchise, in most cases, allows you to take advantage from established brand and market recognition that is worth very big bucks to develop even before your start, rather than making you responsible for building this image.
In conclusion, do yourself a favor and start your business online from developing your own unique solution, software or niche product that will not cost you much more than what you could have spent on such hyped-up offers, but create solid grounds for your future business growth.
