As a part of a live marketing “Thirty Day Challenge” experiment, I begin this series of posts for outlining core steps and tracking the results, starting from a niche research, keywords selections, style social marketing, tracking, testing an obviously reaching the ultimate aim of the experiment, which is developing a workable niche content building and marketing system, in a web 2.0 style, producing profits on a consistent basis. Let’s begin.

Niche Research Steps:

KEI analysis of keyword lists

Comparison by marketability and interest

Competition and targeted affiliate programs research

Web toolbox:

http://google.com

http://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal/

http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/gtrends

http://google.com/trends/

An umbrella phrase picked was “how a computer works“. An untargeted niche with a keyword that doesn’t match both criteria.

Nevertheless this is a topic I can say something about. Besides from experience, I can say that persistence is a more valuable tool in your marketing arsenal comparing to a favorable competition environment.

After a little thought I decided to move my niche marketing blog from the initially suggested Tumblr.com platform to my NeoProfit home site, since my second niche ‘How to Build a Computer’ blog has been suspended for no reason and I don’t want this to happen with this one too. Now all the main steps will be documented and posted to where they are supposed to be from the very beginning at NeoProfit Circle.

Stage ONE: Five Steps To Success – Niche Conquering Strategy

Step 1 Research the niche.

Do you know the dilemma torturing the minds of many marketers? They cannot decide on what niche to pursue: the one showing promising profit potential or the one you are passionate about?

That is a catch 22 situation for many poor marketing souls, although the genius answer as always is simple and is on the surface you need to go for a niche that you are BOTH fond of and can make good money from.

Of course, sometimes you will have to compromise money or your personal interests, but the core is to find a niche that you, at least, like to explore and learn more about and make good money along the way.

There are actually not that many niches that you cannot make any money from, so come up with the list of all of your current and potential interests. Jot down all the topics that you have “bookmarked for the future”, hobbies you can spend hours reading about online (when you planned to work), newsletters and magazines you are subscribed to apart from professional activity, topics you can talk over for hours with your friends and so on and so forth.

I’m 100% sure positive you will get a good range of potential hot niches.
Next stage is to learn monetization potential of these niches. Visit sites you usually read online, but now with the purpose to analyze their actual commercialization models. How they make money, what the inbound links are, etc.

If you spend months online learning this topic or love discussing it with a number of your friends, I’m more than certain that (A) you are not alone in the this world who is interested in the same topic and (B) there is money to be made.

See the competition and your chances. What is the easiest sub-niche for you to start and grow from?

When you get the answer you are ready for the Step 2.

Step 2. Select The Solution

Having the answer to the above-mentioned question, you need to choose the solution to promote. Don’t look for the product or service, seek out the exact solution for your niche market needs. The solution that will satisfy and overdeliver. The solution that will build credibility for you without a single world. The price is secondary unless it satisfies.
1. Search Google/Yahoo/MSN for ["your niche name" "affiliate program"] or ["your niche name" "partner program"] (without brackets)
2. Famous affiliate networks like CommissionJunction.com, Clickbank.com, Shareasale.com, Maxbounty.com etc. maybe software networks like Share-it.com, Regnow.com, Plimus.com etc. are where to search for your solution.

You may also add another several complementary solutions to offer your target market in the form of upsell, on the back-end or as a low-entry pre-qualification sale.

And remember the obvious: the choice is yours, the sky is the limit.

Step 3. Incentivization.

Now the very important thing to understand is that having a top solution to offer is not enough anymore. The reasons are:
- other folks offering the same for the same
- PPC advertising doesn’t allow similar URLs
- you have to build credibility for Your website and business
- you need to grow your customer database
- there are bad people online, looking for ways to part you with your hard-earned commissions

You can solve all of the problems just by having your niche website with a bonus package that is highly related and enriches the main solution.

Incentive is your visitor-conversion engine of your well-oiled PPC machine.

What is the incentive for your niche can be? Remember the obvious?

- video materials: movies, flash clips, screen capture movies. You may even spice up your copy with the YouTube and Google clips.
- audio materials: audio records, interviews, podcasts.
- textual materials: ebooks, reports, articles, Public Domain info. Feel free to add free bonuses in order to enhance perceived value for your incentivized offer.
- image materials: graphics, schemes, plans, photos and pictures. You can also find a lot of these online. Make sure you have the rights to distribute them.

Develop a focused bonus package for all the visitors who order your solution. Make it as an integral part of the main offer that your visitor cannot do without.

Step 4. Establish online your mini-venture

It’s time to connect all the pieces together and have a place to drive traffic, inform, incentivize, direct, serve and grow your customer database.

It’s up to you how many pages you wish to have a single pre-selling copy, a 100 pages informational resource or something in between. It all depends on your niche, preference, emphases and strategy.

You can setup a simple name and email squeeze page with an automatic redirection to the merchants site after the signup. This way you will focus your actions on generating a subscriber list and convert it over time into a customer one.

Equally well you can go with a review type of a landing page on your mini-site.

You may also do pretty nicely with a site, comparing different alternative products against your main solution. Add feature by feature comparison tables etc. A proven high-converting strategy.

The perk is to present your incentivized bonus offer that will stimulate orders, secure commissions and grow your customer list all at the same time.

You do this by making all your referred customers email you back their order receipt to get your bonus package. This way you will grow your extremely valuable customer list and develop your business for the Stage TWO: The Path to Prosperity.

Step 5. Turn On The Engine

Once the system installed, you are ready to drive traffic on demand.
Prepare a list of targeted keyword phrases. Read “Reverse Marketability Research” post for the niche keyword ideas. Select and optimize the list. Then generate several advertising groups, based on a chosen root keyword for each group. For example, if your root keywords are – niche solution – then your list of keywords for the group may be:
niche solution
niche solution review
niche solution compare
niche solution info
niche solution buy
niche solution order
purchase niche solution
learn niche solution
etc.

Make sure you add your keywords list in all three types of supported matches:
- broad match, as shown above,
- phrase match in quotes “”
- exact match in brackets []

Very important note is to test and track all of your PPC campaigns on a keyword level. You can do this by assigning codes for each keyword in the MS Excel or other spreadsheet editor and tracking their performance from a click to a sale or its absence, so next time you can dump keywords that waste money and promote the ones that make it.

Relevancy is the winning word in PPC advertising. It takes time, but nothing boosts your conversions more than a targeted approach in your ad copy, keywords, landing page and bonus package.

You should have a special landing page for each PPC ad group you have in your PPC campaign. Place your root keywords in the title of a landing page and throughout your copy to reinforce and attract attention of the coming visitors. Sometimes you will want to develop a separate landing page for a particular keyword phrase. This will skyrocket your LP quality score, lower your bids to the minimum and maximize your response read top ROI.

Instruct your visitors to email you back their order receipt or submit a special web-form on your site to get your bonus. Place a note that they will be added to your Niche Update newsletter for more information, bargains and bonuses.

Stage TWO: The Path to Prosperity – Market Conquering Strategy

Having conquered your niche or sub-niche, it’s logical to expand your business to neighboring niches and markets. You do this by repeating the exact steps from Stage ONE and surveying your current niche clients, but with the help and leverage of your existent customer email list and established web presence. This is a great playground for cross-promotions, double-upselling, exchanges of bonuses and more goodies for the visitor.

Congratulations. This is the point when your hour consulting rate matches someone’s monthly salary and the life turns out to be not that unfair anymore.
